Shanxi province has released an action plan to integrate cultural tourism with other sectors, developing it into a pillar industry that supports people's livelihoods and happiness, and caters to diverse needs.

The action plan emphasizes enhancing the digital protection and use of cultural relics, aiming to improve the Shanxi Digital Cultural Relics Museum, introduce themed tours such as "Shanxi in National Treasures", and develop AR educational courses and immersive cultural experiences to bring relics to life.

Shanxi will promote the integration of cultural tourism with health, agriculture, industry, commerce, and sports. For instance, in the cultural tourism and health sector, Shanxi plans to develop forest, hot spring, and traditional Chinese medicine wellness bases.

The province will upgrade A-level scenic spots by improving infrastructure, smart services, and ecological environments. Shanxi aims to enrich its cultural tourism product system by developing driving tours, educational tourism, ice and snow tourism, low-altitude tourism, and more high-quality cultural performances.

It will also promote the construction of new public cultural spaces, such as "city libraries" and "cultural stations", and host 10,000 free performances in rural areas as part of its public welfare initiatives. Additionally, Shanxi plans to establish a rapid complaint-resolution mechanism and conduct service-quality inspections to enhance its "Satisfactory Tourism in Shanxi" service brand.
