Tiefo Temple is named after an iron Buddha enshrined in the 7th year of Dading Period of the Jin Dynasty (AD 1167). The Main Hall was built in the Jin Dynasty and underwent multiple renovations throughout dynasties. Currently, there are five extant structures within the temple: South Hall, Main Hall, East and West Meditation Rooms, and the West Side Hall adjacent to Main Hall. The statues of Shakyamuni, Avalokitesvara, Manjusri, Samantabhadra and Twenty-Four Protective Deities, enshrined in the Main Hall, are remarkably vivid and diverse in form, and their lifelike qualities make them unique charms of the Ming Dynasty.
