As early as the Jin and Yuan dynasties,the smelting technology in Zezhou was well developed.Since Jincheng is the hometown of coal and iron,the smelting technology in Jincheng was already very mature during the Spring and Autumn Period(770B.C.-476B.C.). During the Ming and Qing dynasties,Zezhou ironware already occupied most of the market in northern China, and Zezhou iron pots originated from this period.
